A walk by the river last week.

Whenever cold weather hits
It seems like it will never go away. So soon we forget about the rain we were complaining about. So quickly we start to complain about the snow. Last week, I went on a solo walk and it was cold. Normally I would have stayed home but it was part of my daily goal to do something outdoorsy on a Saturday. It was just before lunch and I was walking by the river. It was a foggy day. Most of the river walk was low in visibility. You couldn't actually see the river. You could only make out the floating logs and poles that were standing still out of the water. Once in a while you'd see the silhouette of a bird fly by. Around you everything was frozen. Every blade of grass, every branch and brave petal that stretched out to say hello was glittered with frost. It was quite spectacular. I savoured each vision because I had never seen that before. All spider webs lost their cloaking power as they stood in plain sight with the dangly and torn parts blowing in the wind like white strands of yarn. Other webs looked like perfectly crocheted lace doilies left on the railing of docks by a secret public artist. I guess spiders really are secret public artists. We never know what they are up to but if we could see we would be amazed. All that is gone now. A week later the sun is out and what looked like a frozen winter has turned into an early spring. So quickly the Universe changes it mind. It is the winds of change that direct life. If I had felt it too cold to linger around outside that day I would have never seen the frozen louvre by the river. As even the day after all that frost wouldn't have been able to form. It was like a lesson. Sometimes you only have that moment to enjoy what is given to you. Make sure you cherish that moment. Also when that moment passes don't think too much of the past because the present moment has something to offer to you too if only you decide to look.

There are lessons everywhere and everyday.
